All About Carb Cycle Diets

Carb cycle diet is considered to be a strong tool in shedding fat. Top bodybuilders and fitness models have used this secret to get to staggeringly lower levels of body fat for years, and now it’s time to take it to the masses.

As most health-conscious people use this technique, it is definitely strongly suggested to be used by everyone who is struggling with body fats. That said, there exists a right way and wrong way to cycle your carbs. I am going to inform you the right way.

First of all, what benefits does carb cycling offer?

- It allows you to break through your plateau. Sometimes, after a long period of training with very little variation, your body stops adapting to exercise. By cycling your carbs, you give your body the jolt necessary to break using your plateau.

- Helps deal with cravings. Knowing that you have a higher volume of carbs coming to you in the future helps you keep on track with your diet by not cheating. It seems like seeing a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

- It enables you to gain a single-digit body fat.

- Restores the hormones that manage your metabolism, appetite, and the starvation mode during a reduced-calorie diet.

It should be noted that carb cycle diets only work while you’re in a calorie deficit. That is, eating fewer calories per day than you need to maintain your bodyweight. If you are cycling your carbs and eating in excess of your maintenance level then you will not shed weight.

The Best Carb Cycle Diet:

The Real trick with carb cycling is to vary periods of low carbohydrate consumption with a period of high carbohydrate consumption. In my experience, the most successful version of the carb cycle diet is 3 low-carb days then one high carb day. This looks something such as this:

Day 1 – Low Carb (50-100 carbs)

Day 2 – Low Carb (50-100 carbs)

Day 3 – Low Carb (50-100 carbs)

Day 4 – High Carb (1-1.5 grams of carbs per pound of bodyweight)

Simply reiterate this 4 day cycle, and observe the pounds fall off. In order to raise your protein intake on first 3 days, you may do so if you personally do not want to decrease you total daily calories. However, you may see far better results with a slight reduction in calories.

Since it varies from one person to another, the actual precise values of carbs were not posted. There’s no way I can correctly tell you the proper amount of carbs for you on every given day in a short post like this. If you’d like to find out the most accurate way to find out your ideal carb intake, take a look at this program.

It is also better not to be on a carb cycle diet over couple of weeks. Beyond that time period, you’ll be doing more damage than good to your fat loss results as your metabolism will be struggling. Remember, carbs aren’t bad! They’re necessary as a preferred fuel source by your body, but that’s another article…
